Alexis turns 2!

I honestly can not believe that Alexis is 2.  The time seems to have flown by at record speed but at the same time it feels like she has been a part of our lives forever.

Alexis has always been very alert.  This picture was taken in the hospital when she was a few days old.

This is a picture from her 1st Birthday.  Michelle is trying to comfort her (not sure why she was upset).  She just looks so cute with her party hat on.  There is never a dull moment when Alexis is around!

Being a mom is the hardest thing I have ever done but by far the most rewarding experience of my life.  I love Alexis with all my heart and I am so lucky to be her mother.

Alexis's Birthday Party

We had a family birthday party for Alexis a few days before her actual birthday. Unfortunately I did not take nearly as many pictures as I would have liked.  This was a picture taken the morning of the party.  Alexis was afraid of the balloons the day before but was definitely more excited about them in the morning.

Alexis was very excited to receive an "Anna" dress from her Auntie Rachel.  It arrived a few days before the party so she was able to wear it.  She loved it!

This was about the only "group" shot I got.  Alexis was lucky to have her Grandma and Grandpa Eide there, and her Aunt Lesley, Uncle Mark, Cessiley, Nate, Kristin, Ben, Abram, Aila, Stephanie and Erik.

Alexis was excited to have a "Frozen" themed party with matching cupcakes.

Alexis definitely knew the party was for her and she seemed to enjoy being the center of attention.  Everyone was so generous and she loves playing with all her new toys.

Time Flies

It is really hard to believe that Alexis is almost 2.  I really love this picture of her.  She looks so grown up.  She doesn't keep clips like this in her hair for very long before pulling them out so I was thankful to get this pretty picture.

Favorite Foods

Alexis is a very picky eater.  We go to In-N-Out (burger place) fairly regularly and she loves dipping the fries in ketchup.  She has recently associated riding in our Honda Pilot with getting french fries so pretty much whenever we go anywhere in the Pilot, she says, "French fries, ketchup."  I figured it would probably be a little healthier to buy frozen french fries and cook them at home.

I happen to love circus peanuts.  Brett does not share my love for them.  Actually no one on his side of the family likes them except our brother-in-law, Mark.  They are much more popular on my side of the family.  At least all my sisters like them.  Alexis seems to take after my side of the family here.

More Alexis

Alexis was running a really high fever about a month ago.  It was really sad.  On this day she picked out her Anna shirt to wear.  Her Auntie Leah got it for her for Christmas and she really loves it.

She started to feel better after getting a few doses of antibiotics.

I know I mentioned before she doesn't nap well but when she got sick and was recovering she did take some pretty long naps.

This pictures cracks me up.  She was playing with her new blocks (a present from her Grandma in NY) and as soon as I took this pictures she got up and ran over to me.

She loves to climb and step on things.  I guess she wanted to see if she could fit in this bin.

Alexis

I thought I would add some pictures of Alexis that I have taken recently.  This picture is the day we got back from our NY trip.  Alexis does not nap well.  She never really has unless she was being held.  If we tried to put her down she would usually instantly wake up and not go back to sleep.  The last few months her naps have basically stopped (even thought she still needs them).  She must have been extremely tired to fall asleep like this. This has never happened and probably will never happen again.

It is pretty hard to get a decent picture of Alexis unless it is in "selfie" mode.

Alexis looks so relaxed in this pictures with her leg crossed =)

These two pictures turned out great.  She was distracted enough by being outside that I was able to capture a few good pictures of her.

Alexis loves trying on shoes.  She has a pair of my sandals on but stopped to watch tv for a minute before continuing to walk around.

Christmas in NY 2014

We decided to go to NY for Christmas.  It is getting harder and harder for the whole family to all be together since everyone is so spread out.  5 of the 8 kids were able to be there.  I really wanted to be there but I was not looking forward to the long trip.  My Dad had a business trip in San Francisco right before I was planning to leave for NY and he was able to stay with us and then also travel to NY with us.  Brett came about a week later. Alexis was pretty good on the flights.  We had a layover in Salt Lake and Detroit.  Our flight from Detroit to Binghamton was cancelled due to fog.  We had to spend the night in Detroit.  All things considered, Alexis was good but the situation certainly was not ideal.  The trip home.... well, I won't go into details but it was not pleasant.  It made the trip there seem like a breeze. Even though it was hard I was really happy to be in NY for Christmas. I don't have many pictures.  I am hoping this blog will help me be better about taking pictures.
Alexis LOVES Audrey and Phoenix.  Audrey is so patient and loving  towards her.  It warms my heart to see them together. In the background Phoenix is hovering over Kevin while he plays a game.  It was so cute.
I just love seeing these 2 girls together.  I wish we didn't live so far apart.
