Getting Ready for Jaxon!

I knew the few weeks between Christmas and when Jaxon was going to be born would just fly by.  I tried to make the most of those weeks by spending a lot of quality time with Alexis.

Alexis loves playing in our room.  She likes playing with my "stuff".  I have several little ornamental boxes that she just loves playing with.  One day when I went upstairs to get something I noticed that she had put my bird by the window so it could look outside.  I thought it was so sweet.

A week before Jaxon was born I took Alexis out for lunch to get pizza.  We don't normally go out for lunch but she really enjoyed her pizza.  She kept shaking parmesan cheese on it!

Alexis loves the chocolate frosting.  That is basically all she eats when she is eating a doughnut.

My mom arrived in California a few days before my scheduled c-section.  I was relieved once she got here because then I didn't have to worry about going into labor before the c-section (like I did with Alexis)  It had been over a year since I had seen my mom so it was really nice when she got here.  Alexis loved having all the attention.

Christmas 2015

Christmas morning =)  I need to figure out a better place for the stockings!

We let Alexis open one present on Christmas Eve before she went to bed.  Grandma Eide made her a cute little apron with strawberries on it and got her some cute little things to put in the pockets.  Alexis loves playing with her measuring cups etc. when we visit so Alexis got her own measuring cups and spoons, a little wooden spoon, a little rubber spatula and a little whisk.  Alexis loved putting everything in the pockets.

Alexis was so excited for all her presents.  She carefully unwrapped each present and then wanted to play with it before moving on to the next item.  Sometimes little kids get so excited they just can't wait to open everything so I thought it was really cute that Alexis wanted to play with each thing.  It may be a different story next year!

Most of the pictures I took were of the back of her.  I wish I had realized that and taken some from a different view.

Alexis loves chocolate.  She was really excited when she realized there were some chocolate Santa's in her stocking.

It was a little sad for me thinking of most of my siblings and parents being in New York and wishing I could be there with them but we did have a great day here in California.  Only a few more weeks until Baby Jaxon joins our family!

Getting Ready for Christmas 2015

It was a little hard for me this Christmas because I wasn't able to go to New York since Christmas was so close to my due date but it was fun to be able to set our tree up and have Christmas in California.  Alexis was excited this year for the tree and she had a lot of fun decorating it.  She kept talking about the "Kissmiss Tree".  It was so cute.

Alexis was very interested in all the ornaments.  She kept taking off all the ones she could reach.  She also wanted me to draw a picture of a Christmas tree one day and after I was finished, she took it and put it on the tree.  We had some candles that are meant to be put in a window or something like that but Alexis insisted on placing them on the tree (which you can see in this picture.)

Alexis enjoying the nice weather and slide after I got a little Christmas shopping done.

This was so funny.  Alexis kept taking all the ornaments off the tree and then she figured out she could take the tops off and then decided to put them on her fingers.

Joanna's Visit for Thanksgiving 2015

We were so lucky that Joanna was able to come visit us for Thanksgiving!  I hadn't had a chance to see her since she got back home from her mission.  Alexis really loved spending time with Jo!

I was glad that Alexis agreed to ride the carousel with Joanna =)

Alexis was putting little hair elastics on Joanna's fingers.

Unfortunately I had a very bad cold when Joanna was visiting.  I don't think I have ever had such a bad cough before and being pregnant just made everything worse.  I really wish I had felt better because Joanna was here for such a short time but I am really glad she was able to come.  Alexis had a lot of fun too =)

These are just a few pictures taken sometime in November.  Alexis is not usually a good "cart rider" but if there is ever an opportunity to ride in a cart she can "drive", she is thrilled.

You wouldn't be able to tell how much fun she is having from these pictures but she really is.

It is so rare for Alexis to fall asleep during the day or before bed so I had to take a picture.  She was playing with Brett's phone and obviously was just so tired she couldn't keep her eyes open.  It was hilarious!
