Birthday Party

Brett's coworker/friend had a birthday party for two of his sons that have close birthdays. This was the first birthday party Alexis has been invited to.  She was really hesitant at first but warmed up as the party went on.

Alexis loves playing with soccer balls and basketballs.

I love this picture.  Alexis looks so little holding that big basketball!

Alexis was excited to wear a party hat and eat some pizza.  She also got a little bag with some party favors.  Her favorite thing was a little bottle of bubbles.  She let me blow bubbles for a few minutes before she wanted to take the bottle and within a short amount of time, dumped the rest of the bottle on the carpet.  At least it was a small bottle =)

Alexis had a great time and enjoyed being around the other kids there.  I wish she would do as well in the nursery at church!

Silly Alexis

Alexis just loves putting on shoes.  She saw the shoes I was going to wear to church by the front door and couldn't resist putting them on.

She was very proud of herself and kept laughing as she was walking towards me.

I love this little girl!

Train Ride

I went to look around at a store a few days ago.  In the plaza there is a playground area that also has a train ride and a carousel.  Alexis could hear that train when we were walking into the store.  Even though she couldn't actually see it she knew it was a train and kept saying, "train, train."  I decided to take her over there to ride the train.  She loved it!  It was so cute.

There was also a carousel which we passed by on the short train ride.  There was a big rabbit and she kept saying, "bun" (for bunny).  We went over there after the train ride.  I tried to put her on the rabbit but she got scared so we just sat on one of the seats on the carousel but she loved being on it and kept saying, "bun, horse and cow."  She gets horses and cows mixed up.  There were no cows on the carousel.

Before we left she sat on this rocking horse for a few minutes.  She wasn't quite sure what to think but she did have a really good time.  Later on that day she fell asleep (rare occurrence) and when she woke up she said, "train, bun and horse."  When Brett got home later she continued to talk about the train and even got angry at one point because Brett wouldn't take her to ride the train.

Spring 2015

We haven't been up to a whole lot the past month or so.  Alexis has started talking a lot more and it is really amusing.

She has really loved "Winnie the Pooh" lately.  She loves watching a few movies we have recorded on the DVR.  She watches them at least a couple of times a day.  One morning she decided that Winnie the Pooh need some "hon".

Easter 2015

This was Alexis's Easter Basket.  She was very excited to get so much candy and she loves the bunny she got.  She calls it "bun".  It is so cute.  She also was very taken with the chocolate bunny.  She often asks for a "chocolate bun" even though she ate hers a while ago.  It reminds me when my niece Audrey was pretty young.  She was visiting us in New York and she saw that I had a chocolate bunny left from Easter.  Not wanting to come right out and ask to have some, she said, "I like your chocolate bunny."

Alexis was lucky enough to participate in an Easter Egg hunt in Napa.  It was very nice of Grandma Janice to plan the fun activity.  Her eggs had money in them and she enjoyed putting the coins in her piggy bank.

We went to the mall a few weeks before Easter and someone working at the place you can get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny, gave Alexis these cute ears.  She was a little scared of the Easter Bunny but she enjoyed wearing the ears for a little while. She actually ripped the ears off on the way home but I taped them back on.

Chicago Trip

I was lucky enough to be able to take a quick trip to Chicago at the very end of March.  My sisters, Leah and Michelle live there currently and my sister Rachel, also went to visit with her two kids.  It went by extremely fast but I was so grateful I could could go.  This is a view from Leah's apartment.

Leah recently got a pomsky named "Teddy Bear (Teddy for short).  He is such a cute dog!

Audrey really loved holding Teddy.  They are so cute together.

Both Audrey and Phoenix are so well behaved.  I used to be able to see them more often before I moved to California.  They are growing up so fast so I am grateful whenever I get a chance to see them.

I am normally someone that admires animals from a distance but Teddy was calm enough that I wasn't too intimidated to hold him.  I think Alexis will really like Teddy.

Brett stayed home to take care of Alexis and they had a lot of fun.  Alexis started putting socks on her hands while I was away for some reason.

Alexis was all ready to go to church with her sunglasses and purse that held her bottle and Minnie Mouse stuffed toy.  I sure missed Brett and Alexis while I was away.  I was very happy to see them when I got home.  Alexis hugged me for a really long time.  It was so sweet.
