Getting Ready for Christmas 2017

We decided last year that this year we would spend Christmas at home instead of traveling to New York.  It was nice to have a relaxed holiday season at home.  Alexis was so excited for Christmas and she loved decorating a gingerbread house.  It was so fun to watch her be so creative.

She spent hours (literally)  decorating this house.  She was very careful about putting tiny amounts of frosting on the different candy and sticking them on the house.  It is one of my favorite memories from the Christmas season this year.

She loved frosting cookies at her Grandma Janice's last year so she wanted to do it again this year.

This was the first time she sat on Santa's lap.... ever.  We haven't even attempted something like this before because she would have been too scared but she has grow up so much in the past year and is much more willing to try new things.  This was at our church Christmas party.  It was seriously the best church Christmas party I have even been to.  The decorations were just so beautiful and the atmosphere was truly magical.  I should have taken some pictures but Jaxon was a little demanding that night and he, of course, did not want to sit on Santa's lap!
